Interpersonal dependency describes the emotional and relational templates we develop early in life. For example, how we connect, depend, protect ourselves, and seek closeness. When these patterns get stuck, they can make relationships feel confusing or overwhelming, even when we’re highly capable in other areas of life. Because this is my clinical specialty, I help you recognize these patterns quickly and safely, and we use our work together as a space to shift them in real time. This depth of expertise makes treatment more accurate, more efficient, and ultimately more transformative.
Psychodynamic therapy looks at the “why” behind your emotional patterns: why you feel anxious in certain situations, repeat dynamics in relationships, or struggle to fully relax and feel enough. By understanding these deeper layers, you gain more freedom, confidence, and choice in your life. People who benefit most are those who sense that their struggles have roots they can’t quite articulate and want a safe, thoughtful space to explore them. This work is collaborative, insight-driven, and designed for meaningful, long-term change.
I recognize that beginning therapy involves both emotional and financial considerations. A sliding scale may be available based on financial need and current availability. I'm happy to discuss options during our complimentary consultation.
I don't participate in insurance networks but will provide weekly statements for potential reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.
The initial intake session for individual, couples, and family therapy will be an hour, after which all sessions are 50-minutes in length. Couples and family sessions are one hour. The intake process may take more than one session.
At Deitchman Psychological, we offer both virtual and in-person sessions.
